Kamchiya
Kamchiya beach is located 28km south of Varna and is one of the most beautiful sights along the Bulgarian coast. Besides various trees, bushes, ferns, reeds and yellow water lilies, the region it is best known for its wide beaches, and the river Kamchiya. It is located at the mouth of Kamchiya River, among the unique flooded longoz forests of the Nature Reserve named after the river.
The river Kamchiya is a slow-moving silt-laden soup of a river where you'll find a small resort beside the wooded esuary. The main attraction is the Kamchiya nature reserve slightly upstream, an area of marshy forest and luxuriant vegetation known as the Longoza, which covers about thirty square kilometres. The waters are rich in pike and carp.
The resort of Kamchiya has not been developed for many years, however offers large restaurants such as - Kamchiya, Lillie of Kamchiya, Kamchiiska Sreshta, and Hambarite, which combines rich cuisines and shows - there are also a lot of small bistros and pubs offering delicious sea and river food. There is a good restaurant in the area called Poda, which is situated at the river's mouth on the main road heading south.
During the summer month's boat trips can be taken on the river Kamchiya, if you do decide on a boat trip, you will see many types of birds, water snakes, trees and plants.
